Ng Teng Fong scholarship was set up in 2015 in memory of Mr. Ng Teng Fong, the founder of Sino Group, with an aim at encouraging less privileged students from secondary schools who have good academic achievement.
Besides, students should also have the following attributes such as good conduct and active participation in extra-curricular activities and community activities. The value of the scholarship is HK$5000.

Her Sharing:
Coming from a low-income family with only one breadwinner, it has always been a struggle for me to handle my academic expenses. The Student Finance Office has supported me a lot in paying my tuition fee. However, after promoting to senior form, the expenses and motivation to achieve my dreams have further increased. Therefore, I must emphasize that getting the Ng Teng Fong Scholarship would not only be a financial support but also serve as a strong motivation for me to pursue my future goals.
I am currently at the crucial stage of my life where I am preparing for my HKDSE examinations, hence I plan to spend this scholarship to purchase past HKDSE exam papers. This would aid me in preparing better for my HKDSE public examination and getting one step closer to my future journey in tertiary education. Getting this scholarship would be a gateway for me to link educational material support with my future career as an accountant.
I believe I can contribute to the community through services. By participating in the Community Chest Fundraising and Hong Kong Red Cross Flag Day, I have a chance to serve my community. More importantly, I realized how our small steps can initiate huge changes by assisting the underprivileged communities in Hong Kong. I would continue my efforts in the future and would like to join NGOs like the Red Cross if I could attain relevant academic qualifications. I believe that this scholarship would enable me to take up a better role in addressing the needs of our community. Additionally, I would also like to contribute to the local community by promoting sustainable ways of living in Hong Kong. Volunteering with ReThink Plastic has given me a deeper insight into how we are wasting our natural resources and how we should recycle to promote sustainable development. Therefore, this scholarship would be a great opportunity for me to be an integral part of the community.
