Boys C Football Team — A look back at the road to Champion

Making it to the HKSSF football final is far from easy. This year, though, our grade C boys’ efforts are way too impressive, given the convincing score line they have delivered on their way. The journey in search of the very first trophy won by our school football teams since more than a decade ago was indeed a spectacular run. First, they finished top in the Group Stage, before going on to the knock-out stage en route to final. Nitesh’s half way line goal in the 2nd match day shall definitely be included as the goal of the entire

 tournament.

In the quarter-finals on 6th May, Broadway delivered a brilliant performance at Tai Hang Tung Recreation Ground. Nothing said louder than the fantastic score-line of 4-0, Bises, Subas, Hashir and Siddhant were on the score-sheet.

If there was one thing that was clear about Broadway’s run to the final, it’s that they liked a touch of drama. The opponent was the strongest one our grade C boys have ever encountered, together with the rainy weather and muddy ground at Kowloon Tsai on 13th May, the victory we sealed was way too epic. Despite Bises openers was quickly cancelled by an equalizer goal from the opponent, Subas’s sensational goal in the second half booked our place to the final. Players like Onish, Nitesh, Yug, Yasir and the potential golden gloves winner John formed the solid defense of Broadway, making that rainy day a moment for “Broadwayers”to remember. Efforts from Adrash, Hashir, Siddhant and Sahibjeet were too remarkable to put in words.

The final on 22nd May at Shek Kip Mei Park was down the continued excellent of the Grade C boys, with Subas (2), Siddhant and Bises on the score sheet, the trophy was sealed for Broadway, with a very persuasive score line of 4-0. Let’s not forget all the teachers and students who showed up in Shek Kip Mei Park, with their passion as comparable to the temperature on that day, they acted as the vital 12th man for the team and definitely played a significant role in the title-winning race.
