Greater Bay Area Career Exploration Tours

From 20th to 21st February, 29 S.5 students and 4 teachers joined an educational tour organized by EDB and coordinated by the Career Guidance Department. This enriching experience is designed to provide students with valuable insights into tertiary education and career development opportunities within the Greater Bay Area.

During the tour, students will not only explore different companies, museum and entrepreneurship base in Dongguan, but also deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.

On the first day, students visited the Dongguan Science and Technology Museum and Dongguan Songshan Lake Hong Kong-Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base. Students understood more about entrepreneurial resources in Greater Bay Area. They also gained insights into sectors like technology and biomedical sciences.

On the second day, students visited the Dongguan Tao Heung Food Culture Centre. They have deepened their knowledge of Chinese cuisine culture in Dongguan Daoxiang Food Culture Company.

Then, students also visited Dongguan Toy City, a leading name in the toy industry known for its innovative products and strong global presence. The students could explore the company’s impressive range of high-tech toys.

This unique combination of career exploration and cultural immersion will help our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate their future paths effectively.

Reflections from the students

Most of the students were impressed by the advancements in technology and creativity in these companies, especially 3D printing. The high-tech gadgets in these companies were remarkable for them, featuring advanced exhibits that offered significant learning opportunities.

After this tour, some students would like to attend more activities such as workshops or internships related to technology and entrepreneurship to discover potential career paths. Students felt grateful to have this opportunity to learn more about the development in the Greater Bay Area. They also look forward to having more opportunities to explore more in the Greater Bay Area.
