“EMbrace Tech for Change”

Tea Gathering on September 12

The “EMbrace Tech for Change” program, launched in collaboration with the ARCH Community Outreach and the Hong Kong International Social Service (ISS-HK), aims to help secondary school students from diverse ethnic backgrounds master digital skills and social media marketing techniques.

The tea gathering featured Ms. Mak Mei Kuen, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, as the guest of honour. She was joined by notable figures including Mr. Stephen Yau, CEO of ISS-HK; Mrs Jennifer Yu Cheng, JP, Co-convenor of EMbrace Tech for Change and Co-founder of ARCH Community Outreach; Ms. Chor Siu Har, School supervisor of Delia Group of Schools; and various principals and business representatives. Together, they witnessed the students’ impressive efforts and growth.

During the event, the students demonstrated their ability to use technology and creativity to serve society and drive progress through group presentations on stage.

Participants not only acquired skills in video production and marketing but also experienced significant growth in interpersonal communication, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility. They learned to collaborate with peers from different backgrounds, fostering mutual trust and understanding of the power of language and culture. This experience is expected to promote multiculturalism to the wider community.

Students expressed that this program broadens the horizons for ethnic minority youth, providing valuable career exploration opportunities that enhance their confidence and sense of social participation.

“EMbrace Tech for Change” is more than just a skills training program; it serves as a platform for students to realize their dreams. By integrating technology, culture, and community development, the program builds a bridge from learning to growth and employment, truly embodying the values of diversity, inclusion, and innovative education.
