CSD Mainland China Study Tour
A Journey of Discovery: Understanding Mainland China’s Economic Development
The 2-day Mainland Study Tour (MST) this school year was held on 25-26 June, 2026 and had been planned since October 2025. Our Assistant Principal, Mr. Kot, gave us words of encouragement. Around 8 am, our 108 eager students and 12 teachers set off on their MST to embark on a journey of discovery. The weather was fine and cool. The itinerary below intends to bring various experiences to our ethnic minority students.

In addition to these core insights, the students witnessed firsthand the sheer scale of the region’s development, characterized by its spacious layout, forward-thinking city planning, and remarkably clean, wide avenues. Navigating through vibrant urban districts, they were surrounded by impressive, large-scale infrastructure—ranging from multi-lane highways and sweeping flyovers to complex bridge systems and subterranean tunnels—that vividly illustrated the pace of modern engineering.
This exposure carries a unique significance for our ethnic minority students. The Mainland Study Tour (MST) served as a profound, eye-opening journey. It effectively bridged the gap between abstract textbook knowledge and tangible reality, transforming theoretical classroom lessons into lived, real-world encounters that challenged and expanded their perspectives.
Beyond the formal academic itinerary, the tour also yielded invaluable social benefits. Immersed in a shared travel experience away from the rigid structures of the school bell, teachers and students naturally drew closer together. The informal, relaxed atmosphere of the journey provided a unique context for casual conversations and mutual understanding, ultimately fostering much stronger bonds and a deeper sense of rapport that will undoubtedly enrich their interactions back in the classroom.
