School-based Staff Development Day

School-based Staff Development Day Review – January 28, 2026

On January 28, 2026, our school held a fruitful Staff Development Day, aimed at fostering professional growth and enhancing our educational environment. The day was divided into two key sessions.

The first part focused on the crucial topic of child protection, specifically the newly passed law” Mandatory Report of Child Abuse”. Colleagues were provided with valuable insights on identifying potential cases of abuse and were reminded of the existing school mechanisms for addressing such situations. Guidance Master Mr. Ko YW, along with social worker Ms. Valerie Chung, led this informative session, ensuring that all staff members are well-equipped to respond appropriately.

The second part of the day was dedicated to the integration of Artificial Intelligence in teaching. STEM Coordinator Mr. Yuen SK showcased innovative ways to leverage AI tools, including the use of Gemini for creating interactive classroom games and employing CoPilot for assignment generation. Additionally, the session addressed important considerations regarding intellectual property rights, ensuring that staff are informed and compliant while using these technologies.

Overall, the Staff Development Day was a success, fostering a collaborative environment where educators can learn and grow while enhancing the well-being of our students. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to this important professional development opportunity.
